The Story

After many years as a printer Victor started his own T-shirt printing business Metroprint in 2002 in Red Hook Brooklyn.
Six months ago he moved from a 3rd floor space to his own 1st floor space. On October 29th, when the storm surge
hit hard and flooded his factory with over 5 feet of water, he lost $75,000 dollars worth of equipment needed to run his business.

Victor employs 6 people who lost three weeks of income due to the storm. Several local designers and small businesses
most whom are based in the 5 boroughs of NYC depend on Victor as the manufacturer of their products.
As the backbone producer for so many small businesses, by the nature of his work, Victor helps generate
and sustain a local economy, that is linked to both national and international commerce.

In spite of the daunting challenges, Victor and his staff have rebuilt printing machinery, and found
ways to work with makeshift equipment. However, much of the pertinent equipment and electrical parts still
need complete replacing, in order to regain their previous level of productivity

Victor is the printer for Marissa Corwin’s locally-based line Hand Over Fist featuring the NYC five borough
themed pillows and bandanas (as recently seen on Design Sponge). And since 2003 Deb Goldstein’s pop-culture

locally designed line of tees Miss Wit Designs (recently seen in MetroFocus). As just two of his many customers,
we have come together to help Victor get his business back up and running the best ways we know how.

WORK:
If you are in need of t-shirts or bags printed, Contact Victor here: info(@)metroprintinc.com
www.metroprintinc.com.
For smaller, non-design centered organizations, events and fundraisers,
Miss Wit Designs partners with Victor to manage these projects. You can contact her as well for custom jobs printed by
Victor. Contact Deb here: contact(@)misswit.net

DONATE:
If you would simply like to help out, we have set up this Small Business Restarter Fund for monetary donations.
No amount is too small and is greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly towards much needed machinery,
and to assure that Victor is able to provide steady work for his employees.

Victor has printed so many projects for both of us so we can say from experience that his screen-printing is stellar.
He is an integral part of our businesses. Always up on the art and science involved in silk screening,
his knowledge and talents are quite hard to find.
Thank you so much for your support!
